Bitter Peach Tom Ford

Another risqué name from Tom Ford. In reality, Bitter Peach is the scent of a teenage party, when you crave alcohol and all sorts of liberties, but your parents are vigilant and regularly check to make sure no one's spiked the punch. And so, the main dish and event becomes a flambé ice cream cake.

A blazing blue ice cream with pieces of peach and guava, generously doused with bitter orange liqueur, is greeted by guests with squeals and the clink of spoons. Sticky lips, blurred photos. The party was a success.

Tom Ford was one of the first to notice that a new audience had grown up and needed to be entertained. He lured us into a new world with the sharp scents of tropical fruits (a trend), complex, spicy alcohol (another trend), and his signature magical ice cream, which transforms any dessert into haute perfume.

Somewhere deep in Bitter Peach, I can still detect the scent of chocolate, burnt sugar, and patchouli from Mugler's legendary first gourmand fragrance, Angel. It's literally a drop, adding depth to Bitter Peach.

Yes, it's a bit sharp at the start. Guava, papaya, and other tropical fruits don't grow here, are rarely found fresh, and are more familiar from shower gels. But the foamy bitterness quickly fades, leaving a sweet, youthful scent.
