Gritti i Turchesi
The blotters from the Gritti citrus collection all smell wonderful together: like summer, warmth, and something elusive Italian that turns even orange peel into candy.
Arancia Ambrata Gritti is a long-lasting freshness. This is the perfect example of how the bitterness of citrus oils is supported by the salty bitterness of woody-ambery aromatics. Here, orange is only in the name, because the scent itself is filled with green bergamot and the pungent green of paprika, a heap of jasmine petals, charred wood, and a drop of black vanilla resin. Arancia Ambrata develops more interestingly than at the very beginning. Give it time.
Arancia Ambrata Gritti i Turchesi,
Orange, bergamot, white flowers, vanilla, vetiver, sandalwood
Costiera is my absolute favorite in the i Turchesi collection. If you like classic colognes, you'll love it too. A warm, fruity heart of bergamot with all its accumulated sunshine, lemon juice with vanilla sugar, a mint leaf, and a sprig of rosemary. In the best Italian traditions: part kitchen, part garden, part haute perfumery.
Costiera Gritti i Turchesi,
Lemon, bergamot, petitgrain, rosemary, thyme, amber, white musk
Neroli Extreme Gritti is for lovers of snow-white, extra-thick sheets. It features fresh air, soft, milky light filtering through linen curtains, and the fetishes of a good housewife: laundry, a hot iron, starch.
Neroli Extreme Gritti i Turchesi,
Orange blossom, petitgrain, citrus, musk, galbanum, amber, vetiver, vanilla
Pomelo Sorrento Gritti is more about green tea with ice and lemon than citrus. The tea is clear, almost colorless, with just a slice of lemon added, and served with limited edition Japanese Kit Kat pink wafers and green tea matcha. Perhaps unexpected for Italians, but very much our own scent—delicate, seemingly diffuse and fresh.
Pomelo Sorrento Gritti i Turchesi,
Pomelo, white flowers, green tea, rose, amber, vetiver, iris
Tangerina Gritti is the most gourmand in the collection. Its first breath is the lemon-jasmine freshness of hedione, followed by a whole handful of more spicy than sweet candied ginger and tangerine peels, lemon drops, and rose marmalade. Somewhere in that handful are a couple of toffees. A simple fragrance for sweet tooths of any age.
Tangerina Gritti i Turchesi,
Mandarin, lemon, cedar, jasmine, ginger, coriander, caramel
