The perfume is named after the UNESCO World Heritage Site in Saudi Arabia—the ancient city of AlUla. This city was a historic trading center linking India and the Persian Gulf with Europe, and was also a stop on the ancient Incense Route in the 19th century, linking the Mediterranean with the east and south. The perfume offers an olfactory journey between ochre sandstone on one side and black basalt on the other. In a land of sanctuaries, rock tombs, and caravan routes, the air is dry, but it is precisely this air that preserves relics from another millennium.
