The sublime and enveloping woody-spicy unisex fragrance Escentric Molecules Molecule 01 + Patchouli, released by the niche brand Escentric Molecules in spring 2021, became part of the brand's new M+ Collection line. The series was expanded with two more compositions – Molecule 01 + Mandarin and Molecule 01 + Iris – all released simultaneously. The brand's owner, perfumer and creator Geza Schoen, adhered to the idea of minimalism in developing the fragrances, focusing on fully revealing the scent of each composition's main component.
The very short formulas of all the fragrances combine a common synthetic base of Iso E Super molecules (70%) and a touch of Hedione with the finest, high-quality natural raw materials for each fragrance: iris absolute, organic mandarin oils, and patchouli. All three fragrances are long-lasting, lingering, multifaceted, moderately rich, yet delicate and refined. Each has its own character: mandarin is bright and joyful, iris has a dark and mysterious scent, and patchouli reflects nobility and tranquility.
Molecule 01 + Patchouli uses two types of oil: IFF Patchouli Coeur, the main component with a very pure and soft oil fraction and a subtle camphor note, and a touch of Indonesian oil to give the fragrance a rounded, voluminous finish.
The main woody-patchouli accord of Escentric Molecules Molecule 01 + Patchouli is complemented by moderate earthy, musky notes and the scent of warm spices, as well as lighter balsamic and ambery undertones.
