Jasmin Kama by Rania J is a chypre floral fragrance for women. This new fragrance, Jasmin Kama, was released in 2013.
Naturalist: Rania Jouaneh.
Jasmin Kama is a floral fragrance based on high-quality Egyptian jasmine. The bouquet is built around an interweaving of floral accords, woody aromas, and oriental patchouli leaves, complemented by moderate accents of warm spices and light earthy notes.
Fragrance composition: bergamot, damask rose, Egyptian jasmine, jasmine, patchouli, heliotrope, vanilla, musk, and sandalwood.
Rania Jouaneh: Jasmin Kama is named after the Hindu god of desire, Kama (Kama-deva). In fact, carnal love, lust, which this god ignited in people and even gods, is also “Kama” in Sanskrit. (Actually, this is where the Kama Sutra, the rules of love, comes from. Kama is one of the four goals in life – as aesthetic and erotic pleasure. In one of the Indian myths, Kama awakened the meditating Shiva, who burned him with one glance, and later brought him back to life, albeit disembodied; now the spirit of love, Ananga-Kama, is scattered throughout the Cosmos, now and then infecting people with an insatiable thirst for passion.
I adore India and its culture! You know, Kama has always been depicted as a winged youth with a bow made of sugarcane and five arrows, the tips of which were decorated with five flowers. Let's list all five: ashoka tree flowers, white lotus, blue lotus, mango tree flowers, and jasmine flowers. Egyptian jasmine absolute, used in Jasmin Kama, has a sweeter and fruitier floral aroma, with a distinctly dirty hint of indole and ylang-ylang. Ylang-ylang benzyl acetate.
So jasmine and love are linked by both scent and legend. Both Cupid, who enchanted the hearts of ancient Roman lovers, and the ancient Greek Eros are borrowed from an even more ancient Indian religion.
