Royal Tobacco is an olfactory journey through the Northern Tropics from Oman to Cuba, from royal incense to royal tobacco. Cuban tobacco factories produced luxurious cigars, and to keep the workers from getting bored, a special reader, "el lecturer", read them exciting novels by famous authors. From Victor Hugo and Honore de Balzac to Stendhal, Edgar Allan Poe and Herman Melville. The ritual of reading to the rustle of tobacco leaves and cigarette papers became as integral to the work at the tobacco factory as the aroma of expensive tobacco. In the interpretation of perfumer Cecile Zarokian, the unique combination of incense and tobacco revived this tradition and this fragrance in the style of the perfume house Amouage.
