Linda Pilkington began her perfume career by creating an “impeccable scented candle” commissioned by a leading luxury brand. In 2001, Linda founded her own brand, Ormonde Jayne. Since then, Ormonde Jayne perfume compositions have been the flagships of the selective market of impeccable English perfumery. The perfumer uses only unique natural and rare ingredients. At first, Linda was ridiculed when she learned that the Canadian hemlock note was included in the first perfume duo. This resinous woody note had never been used in perfumery before. Linda decided to include the note in the composition of the fragrances, as some of their nuances differed from the traditionally used ingredients. Despite the fact that there were numerous offers to buy the brand and invest, Linda Pilkington firmly decided that this perfume business would be hers alone. The scale of a small private company suits her, because it guarantees the high quality of the handmade work. Ormonde Jayne's black-and-orange and orange-and-black boxes could conquer the world - but Linda chooses gradual, confident growth over rapid but risky development.
